HISTORY EXHIBITION
The first edition of the Regional Exhibition of Artistic and Traditional Feltre was held in 1987, 4 to 7 June. Mayor of Feltre was Leandro Fusaro, former supporter of the settlement in the university city, which I gladly welcomed the proposal of the Consortium Initiatives Feltre. In Committee organizing the Consortium, which brought together traders and trade cooperation with the Union of Artisans and Workers Group Intercompany Feltre.
Objectives and characteristics of the event were clearly identified from the outset, as stated in the '87 catalog: "Feltre, a town of art, its sixteenth-century Old Town, its frescoed palaces ... An exhibition to discover the most skilled craftsmen existing in the Veneto and the rediscovery of a city of art to invent for itself a new look to offer its historic center to the entire region so that they can rise to new cultural and commercial contacts between each corner of the Veneto and the rest of the world. "
The success of the exhibition, given by the transformation of the exhibition center in the living room, went from strength to strength in subsequent editions. In catalogo1992, for example, the organizing committee has already expanded and strengthened. They include, in addition to the pioneers, the Chamber of Commerce, Ascom, the Tourist Board of Feltre, the Via Appia. Among the institutions, as well as the City of Feltre and Belluno Province, there is the support of the Community Feltrina. The group sponsoring and organizing forces will remain unchanged over the years and successive editions, always under the patronage and coverage of the Veneto Region.
The Show is moved from first to last day of June, to allow, with the beginning of summer, hot days and even more conducive to audience participation.
Other collaborations during the last editions come from the Belluno Dolomites National Park, whose structure is operational in the second half of the nineties.
the exhibition with artisans of all sectors, the various editions offer special topics result of research, such as, for example, the iron gates of palaces and courtyards of the historic center. The restoration of monuments and museums, the opening of the archaeological site in the churchyard of the cathedral, the re-usable "path of the guards" on the Venetian walls are incentives that increase from year to year the flow and enjoyment of visitors.
